We are a nonprofit organization, 100%, made up of volunteers united by the goal of transforming the lives of many women, their families, and future generations. We believe in the power of collaboration and in our ability to make a positive impact through projects, workshops, inspiration, and personal growth.

Our History

The "Ser Mulher em Tech" (Being a Woman in Tech) project was created by Cecília Marshall in 2016 as a collective of volunteer women with the goal of inspiring girls to pursue careers in technology by sharing testimonials from successful women in the field. In 2020, the collective launched a book in partnership with Cisco and created its first mentorship program to support women in their professional journeys.

In March 2023, Cecília left the project for personal reasons, and six female advisors took over its leadership. In September of the same year, these advisors founded the NGO Ser Mulher em Tech Association, with the mission to expand and create new projects focused on inclusion and diversity in technology.

Our Mentorship Program connects experienced women in the tech industry with other women who want to grow and build a solid career in the field. It's a space for exchange, support, and development, where genuine connections generate inspiration, self-knowledge, and new possibilities.

Since 2020, we have impacted hundreds of women through structured mentorship cycles, with regular meetings, a support network, and many transformative exchanges.

Being part of the "Ser Mulher em Tech" Program represents a significant achievement for me. During the mentoring sessions, I shared experiences and clarified doubts about the tech market, gaining a clearer vision of how to achieve my goals. My mentor was Ana Lúcia Dividino, a leader in the field, who shared her time and expertise about the job market. The mentoring showed me that I have the necessary skills, but it's crucial to remember that attitude and discipline are essential to making my dreams a reality.

For me, the mentorship was a process of self-(re)discovery. My mentor, in a very unique way, gave me tools, exercises, and challenges to first define my professional goals – which were misaligned with my strengths, another point we worked on extensively. I am extremely grateful and feel capable of achieving better positions after the mentorship.

Participating in the SerMulherEmTech mentorship program was a transformative experience! Through the program, I gained a unique perspective on what it means to be a junior professional, connecting with and exchanging knowledge with a professional who has 30 years of experience in the field. I came to understand the ongoing challenges that women face in the tech industry, which gave me the strength to continue on my journey. Furthermore, my dear mentor helped me position myself better as a professional, opening doors to a new opportunity and improving my resume.
